Below is a list of what a Habitation Service involves for Caravans & Motorhomes.

Gas Installations

​

  • Check regulator type, manufactured date, and suitability

  • Check regulator performance and carry out leak test

  • Check condition, date, and suitability of flexible hose

  • Check condition and security of all pipe work

  • Check condition of LPG sticker and security of gas bottles

​

Gas Appliances

​

  • Check fridge ignition, FFD and cooling

  • Check operation of cooker, hob, and oven Check ignition, flame and FFD

  • Check operation of space heater. Check ignition, flame and FFD

  • Check operation of water heater. Check ignition, flame, FFD and heating

  • Check operation and condition of external gas point if fitted

  • CO room test (Room sealed appliances only)

Electrical Systems 12v DC

​

  • Check condition of battery & containment

  • Check condition of 12N and 12S or 13 Pin plugs and cables

  • Check condition and operation of road lights and reflectors

  • Check functions of 12S system (charging, fridge, lights, etc.)

  • Check condition of wiring, sockets, and fuses

  • Check operation of all 12v lights (including awning light)

  • Check blown air system, extractors, ignitions, and accessories

Electrical Systems 240v AC

​

  • Check condition of inlet plug and hook up cable (if available)

  • Check the earth bonding for continuity

  • Check operation of the RCD, MCB’s and earth bonding

  • Check condition of wiring, sockets, and fixed connections

  • Check operation of battery charger at terminals

  • Check mains operation of cooker and hob

  • Check mains operation of fridge. Record temperature drop

  • Check mains operation of water heater

  • Check mains operation of space heater

Water System and Appliances

​

  • Check operation and condition of water pump

  • Check operation of pressure switch and adjust (if required)

  • Check condition of water filter and housing

  • Check operation of taps and shower fittings

  • Check condition of fresh and wastewater pipes and fittings

  • Check toilet operation and condition of seal, blade and flush

  • Check drain plugs for seal and operation

Fire and Safety

​

  • Check position, date, and operation of smoke alarm

  • Check position, date, and operation of CO alarm

  • Check condition, type, and expiry date of fire extinguisher

  • Check condition and location of fire blanket

  • Check operation, function, and safety of DIY additions

WHAT I NEED YOU TO SUPPLY

​

- 240v Electric Mains Hook-up Supply

- Water Supply (With An Aqua-Roll Or Equivalent Water Container)

- Gas Supply

If you are unable to provide a electrical supply and/or water, please let me know in advance so I can provide them. I charge an additional £5 if I need to bring a generator with me.

​

Please be aware that I do not carry any gas with me, so in order for me to carry out any gas checks, you will need to provide this.

​

Please ensure that there is at least a one metre clearance space around the whole leisure vehicle.

​

Please leave your leisure vehicle clear and tidy ready for the habitation service.

​

Any repairs taken on will be booked as a return visit.

​

Please be aware that this service is weather permitting.

​

Please be aware that I don't Fit, Service or Repair Solar Panels, Alarm systems & DIY additions.

​

Please be aware that I don't offer a key collection & drop off service. The Customer must meet me at the location of their caravan or motorhome and move it to a suitable position themselves, prior to the agreed start time.

​

Once the Service has been completed, you will receive the Report & Invoice / Receipt in a PDF format via Email.

​

 

Due to the ever increasing difficulty in getting parts, I do not service or carry out work on vehicles manufactured before the year 2000. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
